Ovarian Cancer Awareness Foundation Sponsors Run/Walk for the Cure Event

This is a collection of images from the 2012 Ovarian Cancer Awareness Foundation's (OCAF's) "Teal 5K Run or 1 Mile Walk for the Cure"  at Shelby Farms on Saturday, Sept 22, 2012.

Rhodes Roberts is cutting the ribbon for the Ovarian Cancer Awareness Foundation's (OCAF's) "Teal 5K Run or 1 Mile Walk for the Cure."  Roberts was named the grand marshal for this year's event, which  took place at Shelby Farms on Saturday, Sept 22, 2012.

Runners begin their 5K run for the Ovarian Cancer Awareness Foundation's (OCAF's) "Teal 5K Run for the Cure," at Shelby Farms on Saturday, Sept 22, 2012.  This is the 5th year of this event and there were approximately 800 people who registered for either the walk or run.  This is the greatest number of participants that organizers said that they have had since it began in 2007.

Dawn Thomas is just about to cross the finish line after her 5K run organized by the Ovarian Cancer Awareness Foundation.  She completed the run after 30 minutes and dedicated her run to her aunt, Karen Lindstrom, who recently died from ovarian cancer.

Carol Rodman, Ovarian Cancer Awareness Foundation (OCAF) President in Memphis, is pictured to the left of her friend, Debbie Ellis, at the foundation's "Teal 5K Run or 1 Mile Walk for the Cure" at Shelby Farms on Saturday, Sept 22, 2012.  Ellis is an original member of the Board of Directors for OCAF.  The foundation is dedicated to raising awareness about ovarian cancer and promoting education about this disease.

Johnny Mason, 49, of Olive Branch, Miss poses for pictures as his family looks on.  Members of his family participated in the Ovarian Cancer Awareness Foundation's (OCAF's) "Teal 5K Run or 1 Mile Walk for the Cure," at Shelby Farms on Saturday, Sept 22, 2012.  Mason's wife, Maxine, is currently battling the disease and could not attend this year's event.
